GUWAHATI: Hridoy Babu alias Rifatul Islam Hridoy is one of the main accused who is associated to the recent ‘Brutal Rape’ video that is viral in the internet claiming the victim to be a northeastern girl who recently committed suicide.
It may be noted that the people seen in the video including the victim are all Bangladeshi citizen and are in no way associated with the Northeastern Girl who recently commited suicide.
According to sources, Hridoy Babu is a big tiktok star in Bangladesh. His real name is Rifatul Islam and he is a resident of Kishoreganj village. The accused has been missing from Bangladesh for four months now.
Deputy Commissioner of Police from Tejgaon, Dhaka Metropolitan Police, Md. Sahidullah said that the victim in the video has been identified as a resident of the Mogbazar area in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Police showed the video to the suspect’s mother, who identified him as 26-year-old Rifatul Islam Hridoy, also known as ‘TikTok Hridoy Babu’.
Reportedly, the victim was getting all her documents ready for the past few months in order to travel to Saudi Arabia, but went missing around three months ago. Bangladesh authorities suspected the girl was staying in India.
According to the Bangladesh police, the face of one of the attackers matched that of a picture posted on a Facebook profile, through which police identified the suspect.
Later, Bengaluru Police arrested all four accused in the viral video of rape. The victim is a 22-year-old young women who was tortured and gang raped by 5(including one woman) at NRI Colony six days ago.
The women present with other three accused including the victim are imigrants from Bangladesh.
The accused are from the same group and due to financial conditions, the culprits brutalised the victim, and she was brought to India for trafficking.
Bengaluru Police confirmed that the victim is in a neighbouring state and a police team has been dispatched to trace her so that she could join the investigation.
