The Government of Assam is pondering on a new rule for providing licenses for home delivery of liquor by wine shops in the city of Guwahati. Though, it is not clear how a person can order and also how the state government will deal with the identification of a person by its age.
If reports are being trusted, then this could be implemented in the Guwahati in the next Standard Operating Protocol (SOP).
However, the Government of Meghalaya also approved a new rule for providing licenses for home delivery of liquor by wine shops in the state. The Cabinet Minister of Meghalaya James K. Sangma said the state cabinet has approved a proposal regarding this and decided to introduce a new rule under the Meghalaya Excise Rules on license for home delivery of liquor.
