PRCI Guwahati chapter & YCC Northeast took part in the ongoing national webinar contest organised by PRCI, the topic that Guwahati Chapter presented was on ‘Changing media and their changing role in PR’
The speaker of the event was Anjuli Chittaranjan, State Head, Corporate Communication , Assam & North East, Reliance Infocom Ltd. and Nurul Islam Laskar, Chairperson , PRCI Guwahati Chapter and the event was moderator by Siddhartha Pratim Dutta and co-ordinated by Subhankar Banerjee, Founder and Director of Seven Sense Communication and Director PRCI-YCC North East.
Here the speakers stated about the three factors that are causing change in the media or in the entertainment landscape; changing customer relationships, shifting business tools, evolving technology investment decisions. This was followed by a short decision on Media Innovations, and the contemporary scenario of the media industry with amalgamation of new technologies with their pros and cons.
Speakers also mentioned during the session about the current situation of the Indian PR Industry which is moving at a steady pace in recent years, how PR has become a trusted business partner to steer the company ahead and this all happened after some major PR companies have set up their consultancies in India. With this unlike any industry , the PR industry is also not apart from challenges, according to the speakers the challenges here right now are; Business Growth, Content – a key driver, attention rate, the right training, technology adoption in PR.
Students of different educational institutions of Northeast like Dibrugarh University, Assam Don Bosco University and a few more institutes have joined the session.
The Webinar had 10 jury members which included GS Bawa, K Ravindran, Vipin Kharbanda, BK Sahu, Dr BK Ravi and few others from different PRCI Zones and Koral Dasgupta was the celebrity Judge. On the occasion MB Jayram Chief Mentor and Chairman of PRCI also announced that the upcoming Global Conclave is scheduled to take pace in Kolkata in the month of September.
