A woman and her friends who were in an intoxicated state created a high-voltage drama outside Rajdhani Masjid in the Hatigaon area of Guwahati on the night of June 12. As per reports, the woman, who was believed to be under the influence of alcohol, allegedly behaved in an inappropriate manner with traffic police and also attacked the on-duty police officials after they were instructed to stop their vehicle following a road accident.
The woman, who was driving her four-wheeler vehicle crashed into another vehicle near Rajdhani Masjid in the Hatigaon area, after which the traffic police constable asked them to stop. It did not go down well with them and they reportedly hurled abuses at the police and called them names and dragged the matter for nearly an hour they also refused to co-operate with any of the officials. The Hatigaon police later detained them and handed them over to the Dispur police for interrogation.
It has also been alleged that the woman along with her friends showed aggression towards journalists upon being questioned about the incident. Earlier last month, a woman was injured in a road accident in the Rajgarh area of Guwahati the incident reportedly took place near Rajgarh by lane 4 when a passenger vehicle bearing registration number ‘AS 01 BZ0675’ collided with a road divider at high speed.
Notably, the driver of the car, a woman, was critically injured and was later admitted to the Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) for medical treatment. Meanwhile, locals alleged that a liquor bottle was found inside the woman’s car, indicating that she was intoxicated when the accident took place.
