Guwahati, Sept.21: Former journalist and social activist Duina Barbaruah has been awarded the prestigious Global Inspirational Award 2022 in London, United Kingdom recently.
Founder President of Asian Academy of Film and Television and Indian film producer-director, Sandeep Marwah and Padmashree Kalpana Saroj gave away the award to Barbaruah in recognition of her outstanding contribution as a journalist and social worker for the betterment of humanity.
Instituted by Trident Events and Media Ltd., London and hosted by MP, UK Parliament, Virendra Sharma, the venue for the award giving function organised as part of Naya Bharat Mahotsav which was to be held at the House of Commons in UK Parliament had to be changed due to the death of HM, Queen Elizabeth II.
An elated Barbaruah said, “Winning the award would not have been possible without the inspiration I have received from my family, colleagues and well wishers for whom I have the deepest respect, and from whom I have derived the strength to challenge myself and perform better at each stage.”
