A panel discussion on the ‘ politics of change’ was held on Saturday on the second day of the ongoing third triennial conference of the United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) being held at Jougalu Fwthar, Chandrapara in Kokrajhar district.
The programme was chaired by Sabda Ram Rabha, Advocate of Gauhati High Court.
Political Adviser to the chief executive member (CEM) of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), Dr Berlao K Karjie inaugurated the panel discussion.
The discussion has highlighted the building up of social integration among different communities and bringing transformative change in the Bodoland region through the rendering of deep services in the region.
He said that the UPPL-led BTR government has been working dedicatedly towards the welfare and development of the Bodoland Territorial Region since its inception.
“Politics of change” has been the guiding principle of our Bodoland Territorial Region government, and bringing transformative change in BTR is our mission. Be it education, health, or employment, it is our Government’s mission to effect a positive change in the lives of the citizens of BTR, and our policies reflect our commitment towards vastly improving the quality of life in Bodoland region,” Boro added.
AGP president and Assam cabinet minister, Atul Bora graced as a guest at the delegate meeting today evening.
Bora said that the regional parties of the state must come forward to make strong uplift of the respective regional parties. He has urged the UPPL workers and members to render massive services to reach out to the grassroots.
Meanwhile, UPPL president Pramod Boro hoisted the party flag today morning on the second day of the party conference amidst the huge presence of party workers and supporters.
Party’s working president and Rajya Sabha MP, Rwngwra Narzary offered homage to martyrs.
While addressing the reporters, Boro said that the UPPL party has been emphasizing bringing a corruption-free environment to the region. He said that the UPPL-led BTR government has been stepping to end the corruption and anomalies in the entire BTR districts.
He said that the BTR government has been emphasizing bringing better governance to make welfare and development of the citizens.
Later in the evening, the second delegate session was held with UPPL president Pramod Boro in the chair.
On Sunday, the Chief Minister of Assam, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma is attending as chief guest on the open session of the concluding day of the conference.
Assam BJP president and MLA, Bhabesh Kalita, Assam cabinet minister Urkhao Gwra Brahma, and Lok Sabha MP Dilip Saikia are attending as special guests.
A marathon race competition (for men & women) is carrying out in the early morning.
A cultural rally for unity will also be organised to mark the party conference which is representing different communities in the region.
Bodoland Territorial Region executive member, Daobaisa Boro and international athlete, Kunjolata Boro will flag off the rally.
