A Awareness Training on Different Rice Value Chain Machinery was conducted at Cheyani chok village under Naduar development block in Sonitpur district under APART programme. A total of almost therty farmers from the village and nearby areas attended the training programme. The programme started with the welcome address by Mr Anjan Nath(Chairman, Shyamal FPC) where he highlighted the basic objectives of the programme. Pankaj Baruah, Research Technician, APART discussed about various mechanical methods of rice cultivation and their benefits. He also discussed about different post-harvest technologies to reduce loss of the cultivated crops and thereby increasing farmer’s income.During his lecture, he also demonstrated the usage of a moisture meter and super bags for storage of paddy after harvest. The importance of Custom Hiring Centres (CHCs) and Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) for the success of rice value chain were also discussed elaborately by him in the programme. At the end of the programme, the farmers expressed their satisfaction over such a beneficial training programme and showed interest in adopting such post-harvest technologies in the near future.
