Kokrajhar: Wilson Hasda, the Executive Member of the Bodoland Territorial Region, participated in the Amrit Kalash Yatra held in Srirampur, Kokrajhar on Friday. This event was organized by Srirampur VCDC and started from the Desh Bandhu Cultural Club premises on Friday morning.
The noteworthy aspect of the event was the extraordinary demonstration of patriotism exhibited by the residents of Srirampur. Kalash (pots) were gathered from various locations within Srirampur and will be submitted accordingly, serving as a symbol of unity and unwavering devotion to our nation.
“I extend my gratitude to all who have joined this program. Its success is solely attributable to your unwavering dedication. This initiative falls under the guidance of the Prime Minister’s vision, the ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ Initiative, as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations. I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to the Prime Minister for spearheading numerous initiatives aimed at rekindling patriotism in the hearts of our citizens,” stated the EM.
EM Hasda further elaborated, “The ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ (MMMD) initiative represents the culmination of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav Commemoration. In the second phase of MMMD, we are collecting soil (‘mitti’) from every household across India as a symbolic gesture, signifying the people’s active involvement in the creation of an ‘Amrit Vatika’ in Delhi.”
The EM posted on Facebook, “Proud to be a part of ‘Amrit Kalash Yatra’ under the ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ initiative organized today by Srirampur VCDC at the Desh Bandhu Cultural Club premises in Srirampur, Kokrajhar.
It is a great honor that the soil from our locality will enhance #AmritVatika, located near the National War Memorial in New Delhi, serving as a timeless tribute to those who sacrificed their lives for our country.

The EM later joined another ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ program at Kathalguri in Kokrajhar district.
EM Wilson Hasda further posted on Facebook, “Participated in ‘Amrit Kalash Yatra’ under the ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ initiative in Kathalguri, Kokrajhar District, a campaign initiated by the Adarniya Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi Ji.
It was truly heartening to see the enthusiastic involvement of the local community.
BDO Hatidhura, Shri Makar Singh Narzary, and other Hatidhura Development Block staff among others were present.”
Notably, Amrit Kalsh Yatra is a culmination of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Celebrations. Amrit Kalash Yatra is a Union government initiative in regard to ‘Meri Mati, Mera Desh’ ideology. It is nation-wide campaign to adhere to the philosophy of Jan Bhagidari and creating a space called ‘Amrit Vatika’ in Delhi. This space would serve as a reminder for the Indian citizens to work together, develop a sense of brotherhood and unity within themselves. The Union Home Minister Amit Shah on 2nd September, 2023 officially launched the Amrit Kalash Yatra campaign from New Delhi. In his speech on the occasion, the Home Minister mentioned that India will achieve all round development by 2047.
