A shocking video has emerged from Uttarakhand’s Haridwar where a five-year-old boy, suffering from blood cancer, died after he was submerged in River Ganga again and again by his parents in hopes of a “miracle cure”. The incident occurred on Har Ki Pauri after he was submerged in the freezing river multiple times.
The incident was caught on camera in which a Delhi-based couple could be allegedly seen drowning their child suffering from cancer in River Ganga. As per the video, several bystanders were seen asking the family to stop after they noticed that the boy was underwater for too long. On seeing that the family was listening, a people present on spot forcefully brought the boy out.

The police have registered a case and have booked three persons, including the boy’s mother, in connection with the incident.
As per the information given by the cab driver who took the boy and his family to Haridwar, the child was accompanied by his parents and another woman relative. The family left for Haridwar at around 9 am on Wednesday, NDTV reported.
The other relative was reportedly the boy’s aunt. The cab driver said the boy looked extremely unwell and the family informed him that he was suffering from cancer and doctors in Delhi had given up.
“The family stated that the boy was undergoing cancer treatment in a top Delhi hospital. The doctors had eventually given up and told them that their child could not be saved. The family believed that River Ganga can heal the boy,” Haridwar city police chief Swantantra Kumar said.
He further informed that the Haridwar Police officials are getting the reports from the Delhi hospital. “But at this point, it appears that they brought the boy here because they believed that Ganga Snan (Ganga dip) would cure him.”
