GUWAHATI ,March 4:The Institute of Advanced Study in Science and Technology (IASST), an autonomous institute under DST, Govt. of India situated at Paschim Boragaon, Guwahati organized Industry-Academia Conclave on Technology Transfer on March 4th at IASST.
The conclave aims to catalyze collaboration between academia and industry, foster a dynamic ecosystem conducive to accelerating innovation, commercialization, and the widespread adoption of cutting-edge technologies for the betterment of society and focus on facilitating the seamless exchange of ideas and knowledge. The conclave is expected to be a pivotal platform for stakeholders to converge, ideate, and forge meaningful partnerships. The participants of the conclave include a diverse spectrum of professionals ranging from researchers and academicians to industry stalwarts and aspiring students of industry and academic institutions.
The Conclave was inaugurated online by Professor Ashis Kr: Mukherjee, Director of IASST. While delivering the inaugural address, Prof. Mukherjee emphasized the importance of technology transfer, cross-border innovation and the concerted efforts of IASST in developing the technologies and transferring them to industry. He advised the participants to develop technologies that can ultimately reach society. In this direction, Prof. Mukherjee commended the Conclave, where innovators, industry, R&D labs, academia, MSME, Startups, Big Industries, Incubation centres, Policy makers and other stakeholders have been brought on a common platform to discuss the roadmap for achieving the goals of the government of India, Viksit Bharat 2047. He remarked, “We are enthusiastic about the potential of this platform to unite experts from academia and industry, fostering collaborative endeavours aimed at translating innovative research into tangible real-world applications”.
The panellists were Prof. Pradeep Srivastav, Executive Director and Dr. Sangeet Nagar; Scientists from FTIFAC-New Delhi; Dr Harikrishna Varma-Scientits-G and Dr Roy Joseph, Scientist-G from SCTIMST-Kerala, Prof. R N Singh, Managing Director from Himalayan Biochemie Herbs from Dehradun, Dr Sourav Majumdar, from Serum Institute of India Pvt—Ltd.-Pune and academic expert from Tezpur University-Assam.
