Stress Ease Talk: Empowering Students Organized at Dibrugarh University

Dibrugarh, April 27 – The Public Relations specialization students of the Centre for Studies in Journalism and Mass Communication , Dibrugarh University, spearheaded an insightful and engaging session titled “Anweshan: Stress Less Talk” today at the prestigious Indira Miri Conference Hall. The event, organized as part of their campaign “Stress Less Initiative,” witnessed the participation of students from various departments and centres, collectively numbering around 40 enthusiastic attendees. 

With a keen focus on stress management and its profound implications for academic and professional pursuits among young adults, the session aimed to equip students with practical strategies for coping with stressors in their daily lives. The event commenced with a warm welcome extended by the organizers, underscoring the significance of prioritizing mental well-being in today’s fast-paced world.

Distinguished guest speakers, Mr. Suddipta Kaushik, Founder Director of KEF and Director of VKV, Tiloi Nagar, and Dr. Bandita Phukan, Consultant Psychiatrist at Assam Medical College, shared their expertise and insights on effective stress management strategies. Mr. Suddipta Kaushik elucidated practical approaches for managing stress, and in his talk he mentioned, “Remember, amidst life’s demands, it’s essential to shift from merely liking oneself to truly loving and prioritizing oneself. Self-care isn’t selfish; it’s a vital step towards managing stress and fostering holistic well-being.” While Dr. BanditaPhukan delved into the psychological dimensions of stress management, offering valuable guidance to the attentive audience. She said, “Preventing stress starts with recognizing your triggers and establishing healthy boundaries. Practice mindfulness, engage in regular physical activity, and cultivate a support network. Remember, you have the power to shape your response to life’s challenges.” The interactive nature of the session facilitated vibrant discussions and exchanges among participants from diverse academic backgrounds, fostering a collaborative learning environment. Students actively engaged with the speakers, seeking advice and sharing experiences, thereby enriching the collective understanding of stress management techniques.
