In a vibrant celebration of National Sports Day, the Indian Army, under the aegis of Spear Corps, organized a series of sports events in Phougakchao Ikhai, Bishnupur district. The event aimed to promote physical fitness, unity, and community spirit through sports, drawing enthusiastic participation from the local community.
Around 180 students from Anita Standard High School and Radiant Public School, along with 25 staff members and 15 parents, actively took part in various games, including the sac race, relay race, jalebi race, tug of war, and musical chairs. The day’s activities not only provided fun and competition but also fostered a sense of togetherness among the participants.
A highlight of the event was a friendly volleyball match between the local community and the Indian Army, symbolizing the strong bond between the residents of Phougakchao Ikhai and the armed forces. The match, played in the spirit of ‘Sport for the Promotion of Peaceful and Inclusive Societies,’ underscored the power of sports to bridge divides and build enduring relationships.
The Indian Army’s initiative in organizing this event continues to strengthen the camaraderie and mutual respect between the armed forces and the local communities, reinforcing their commitment to fostering peace and unity through sports.
