The Assam girls’ team has triumphed at the 17th Sub Junior Roll Ball National Championship, reclaiming their Champions title in a thrilling finale. The national tournament, held from 12th to 15th September, was organized by the Maharashtra Roll Ball Federation and the Roll Ball Federation of India at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Sports Complex in Pune. A total of 28 states participated in this highly anticipated event.
Assam’s squad displayed remarkable skill and teamwork, remaining undefeated throughout the competition. In the group stages, Assam emerged victorious with a series of dominating performances:
- Assam vs Madhya Pradesh: 2-0
- Assam vs Kerala: 3-2
- Assam vs Gujarat: 11-1
- Assam vs Karnataka: 5-1
Their momentum carried them into the quarter-finals, where they defeated Tamil Nadu 3-1. In the semi-finals, they faced Uttar Pradesh, securing a 6-3 victory to advance to the championship match.
The final showdown against Rajasthan was a nail-biter, with Assam narrowly winning 3-2. Avantika scored two goals, while Drashti contributed one, leading their team to a well-deserved victory and the coveted championship title.
This victory marks another significant achievement for the Assam girls’ team, highlighting their growing prominence in the national Roll Ball arena.
