With the buzz with ” All first women drivers racing team to debut at 2018 JK tyre FMSCI National racing championship” , it is indeed a great opportunity for all the women racers in the country. This initiative has been taken by Ahura racing, which is a professional racing team formed in 2017, owned and managed by three times national champion, Sarosh Hataria. The talent hunt and driver selection was conducted at Kari Motor Speedway, Coimbatore based on fitness, car control, speed and lap times. The 60 drivers were given basic driving lessons and training for the first 2 days, before the best 24 got to participate in the selection trials.
Miss Jahnabi Das, was the only participant from Guwahati, Assam who participated in this talent hunt and got in the top 24. Though she went for racing for the first time, she is a vivid driver from long years and she proved her need for speed and her love to drive on the tracks. It was indeed a great mark in the field of motorsport. She intend to participate in the upcoming races wherever she could. And it is indeed a proud moment that Assam woman has participated in motorsport, which is not everyone’s cup of tea. Hope more women get inspired and we get to see more racers from Assam.
