The complete draft NRC was published on July 30 2018. Out of 3,29,91,385 applicants, 40,07,717 people’s applications were found to be ineligible. Around 2,50,000 claims have been received by the National Register of Citizens (NRC) authorities while just 80 objections have been filed till date. Already one month and 13 days have passed following the commencement of the claims and objections phase of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) on September 25.Another period of one month and seven days is left for the process of filing claims and objections till December 15 – the date that the Supreme Court fixed during its last hearing on November 1.
After December 15, no claims and objection appeal would be entertained by the NRC authorities. From February 1, 2019, verification of the claims and objections would take place. Prior to that, notices would be sent to the applicants to be present for hearings.
