Having been rumored for quite a while, Nokia 9 PureView is easily of the most anticipated smartphones out there. The primary reason behind the same is the penta-camera system at the back that the flagship is expected to come with.
Nokia 9 PureView was first rumored to debut in September this year. However, since that didn’t happen, the rumor mill pegged that the top-tier smartphone could debut at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019, in February next year. It seems though, we won’t have to wait that long.
A report from previous week had claimed that Nokia 9 PureView may go official in January 2019. Now, fresh information claims that HMD Global could debut the smartphone this year itself, hinting that the launch could be just a few weeks away.
Citing its resources, NPU has claimed in a report that HMD Global is planning to launch the Nokia 9 PureView smartphone this year. Initially, the company had reportedly encountered issues with the production of the penta-lens camera module of the smartphone.
However, NPU now claims that the issue has been resolved and the company is now actively producing the smartphone. HMD Global is expected to hold a mega unveil event for the smartphone, which may happen in the coming weeks.
Debunking the rumors of Nokia 9 PureView’s 2019 launch, the publication has claimed that the company never had any plans to launch the smartphone next year. In fact, it had kept the device under wraps to make rumors surrounding the smartphone’s penta-lens camera module go away.
Nokia 9 PureView is tipped to feature a 5.99-inch notch-less display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The QuadHD+ display is expected to have an under-display fingerprint scanner as well. Nokia 9 PureView will likely be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 SoC and have a 4,150mAh battery, complete with wireless charging support.
