Assam girl Rodali Barua Wins Gold In Taekwondo

Assam girl Rodali Barua has won gold in the second Indian Open International Taekwondo Championship in Hyderabad. Players from 25 countries took part in the tournament, which was held at GMC Balayogi International Stadium at Hyderabad’s Gachibowli.

Previously, she participated in the World Taekwondo Championships in Korea in June 2017 and also won gold medal at the 35th National Senior Kyorugi and 8th National Senior Pumche Taekwondo Championships held at Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh.

Rodali Barua and Dipika Hazarika from Assam were selected to represent India at the World Taekwondo Championship in Manchester. But, they could not participate in the tournament due to issues related with their visa.

Rodali hails from Tezpur and is the daughter of Anupam Barua and Runa Barua. She has been participating in taekwondo events since she was in the 8th standard.
