The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) is organising ‘Guwahati Jagannath Rathayatra Festival- 2019’ from July 4 to 12, according to a press release here.
On July 4, the Rathayatra will start from the playground of the Ulubari Higher Secondary School (near SB Deorah College) and culminate at the Jagannath Temple cum Cultural Complex at Jayanagar, Beltola after passing through GS Road, Ganeshguri, Dr RP Road, Last Gate, Beltola-Basistha Road and Beltola Tini Ali.
The festival will conclude on July 12 with Ulta Rathayatra. This religious procession will start from Cotton University and culminate at the ASTC parking lot at Ulubari after passing through Pan Bazar, Fancy Bazar, MS Road, AT Road and Paltan Bazar.
Apart from the devotees, various ethnic groups of the State will also take part in the Rathayatra showcasing their cultural heritage dedicated to Lord Jagannath, the release said.
During the 9-day festival, the main attraction will be Srimad Bhagavad Katha at the Jagannath Temple cum Cultural Complex at Jayanagar, Beltola from July 5 to 11. Srimad Bhagavad Katha will be delivered by Amogha Lila Das, vice president of ISKCON Dwaraka Temple, New Delhi.
