Indian Army chief General Bipin Rawat on Friday said that the Indian Army would provide support to any army personal who has an issue with the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Assam.
While speaking at the 20 years celebration of Kargil War victory in Dras, General Rawat said, “We will support any army personal who has an issue with the NRC. If a person has served the Indian Forces then he will surely be taken care of.” He further assured to help army personal with all the required documents.
It may be mentioned here that recently Kargil war veteran Mohammad Sanaullah’s name has been struck off from the NRC list. He was also declared a foreigner by a Foreigners’ Tribunal and sent to a detention camp. However, Sanaullah was later released from the detention camp.
