The rising cricketer from Assam, Riyan Parag, on Saturday extended his helping hand for the flood-affected people of the State by donating Rs. 1 lakh to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF).
“It is heartening to see the young generation coming forward in large numbers to help those affected during Assam floods,” CM Sarbananda Sonowal said while receiving the cheque from the youngster.

Earlier, Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar on Wednesday announced to donate Rs. 1 crore each to the CMRF and the Kaziranga National Park. Sprinter Hima Das has also donated half of her month’s salary for the flood relief of the State. Actor Jatin Bora also donated Rs. 1 lakh to the CMRF.
Meanwhile, contribution to CMRF continues to pour in as several other organizations and individuals making donations towards the fund, which is intended to extend a helping hand to the poorest of the poor who are in distress.
