A shocking incident took place in Goalpara where a couple has sold their twin babies for money.
The accused duo has been identified as Kushal and Rupa who has sold one of their children in Shantipur, Guwahati for an amount of Rs 10 lakh and another in Bongaigaon for an amount of Rs 10 lakh.
Reportedly, the incident came to light on Saturday, when the Social Welfare Department recovered the twins from Bongaigaon.
As per reports, the couple had covered the pregnancy by lying to the neighbors that tumors have developed inside Rupa’s abdomen and had also took blood from their relatives during the delivery of the babies.
It may be mentioned that although the Social Welfare Department had recovered the children but allegations have been raised against them for trying to cover up the incident.
