“Gharial”, a fish-eating crocodile had gone extinct in Assam. A few days back it had resurfaced in Ai river at Nijlaguri of Chirang. But Locals being panicked at seeing huge 5.11 feet-long female gharial, and ended up killing it. Gharial might have strayed and swum from Bhutan.
