SHILLONG : Following three days of adrenaline pumping competitions, the 3 Edition of Shillong Endurance Motorsports Challenge, 2019 organised by the Shillong Endurance Motorsports Club in collaboration with the Meghalaya Aids Control Society (MACS), Shillong, came to a successful conclusion on November 16, 2019. The three days event held at Shillong.

A total of 73 participants took part in different categories which included cycle trail, non-gear sooty, 2 stroke, 4 stroke and open motorbike category, 4×4 stock and 4×4 modified.
Shri. MB Tongper, ADC, East Khasi Hills District and Smti Meena Kharkongor, Chairperson, State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, attended the prize distribution ceremony as Chief Guest and Special Guest respectively.
While congratulating all the winners on the spirit of competition and sportsmanship displayed throughout the competition, both the speakers highlighted the important of spreading awareness on the HIV/AIDS and also on getting themselves and people their know, tested.
- In the Cycle Trail category:

Second prize🥈 was bagged by Banshanlang Khyllait and
Kevin John Khyllait bagged the third prize 🥉.
- In the Non-Gear Scooty category:
The first prize 🥇was bagged by Bantiplang Kharjana,
Second prize 🥈 bagged by Deepak Kumar Sah and
the third prize 🥉 was bagged by Angelus Jasain.
- In the 2 Stroke Novice category:
The first prize🥇 was bagged by Riphinstar Sohtun,
Second prize🥈 was bagged by Batista Marbañiang,
and the third prize 🥉was bagged by Cardi Nongrum. - In the 2 Stroke Expert Category:
The first prize 🥇 was bagged by laki Trang,
Second prize 🥈 was bagged by Khrawborlang N Dhar and
Teibor Wankhar bagged the third prize🥉. - In the 4 Stroke Novice category:
The first prize 🥇 was bagged by Darren Damanbha Kharkongor,
Second prize 🥈 bagged by Dapkupar Marbaniang and
the third prize 🥉 bagged by Batista Marbaniang. - In the 4×4 Stock Category:
The first prize 🥇category was bagged by Banlamphang Marboh & Rickyniel Nongrang,
Second prize was🥈 bagged by Daniel Kharkongor and Sanos Kumar and
the third prize 🥉was bagged by Sunny Nongrum and Larry Syiemiong. - In the 4×4 Modified Category:
The first prize 🥇was bagged by Francis Kharkongor and Deihok Kharmalki,
Second Prize was🥈 bagged by Sandy Cliff Marbalang and Rooney Lyngdoh, and
the third prize 🥉was bagged by Protik Roy Mainlang and Viru Dkhar (Co-Driver)
It may be mentioned that as part of the event theme “Know your HIV Status; Get Tested”college campaigns were held wherein the team SEMC and MACS paid visits to colleges around Shillong to spread the message about the importance of getting tested. On all three days of the event, there was an IEC Camp along with an ICTC Mobile testing unit which allowed people to come forward and learn about their status.
An awareness workshop on “Shillong My Passion was carried out in the second day of the event, (15 Nov) by the team from SIPMIU (State Investment Project Implementation Unit) wherein the message given out was greatly accepted by the both participants and spectators. Pledges were made by the organisers, participants and spectators on keeping Shillong Clean and Combating HIV side by side.
The Free Eye Camp by Bansara Eye Care also brought about a great response from the people of the Umtyngar and neighbouring villages and also from spectators who were present at the event.
