Nripanka Das from Guwahati, Assam (India) has received an honorary doctorate degree in “Research and Innovative-Sustainable Development” from the United States of America and became the first Assamese to hold this title. Honorary degrees represent one of the highest recognitions of outstanding and distinguished personalities from the world for their contributions to scholarship, creativity, leadership, and humanitarian or public service, that represent a state-level, national or international model to others and reflect the broad mission.
He is currently working as a Mechanical Project Engineer – Research at ARENSIS (World’s Most Innovative Company 2018 – Fast Company) and involved in biomass energy projects providing clean electricity, heating and cooling for some of the most remote places of the world. He is associated with building micro-grid technology that integrates bio-waste, solar and storage to provide an economical reliable supply of energy anywhere in the world. He has helped developed a sustainable, modular and mobile power units, fitted in a 20 ft. container, integrated with solar/storage to create a completely decentralised power grid which is cheaper, reliable and eco-friendly.
