Guwahati: In a shocking incident, Vaccum cleaners, hair dryers and steam irons were used by the authority to check the condition of the pitch after a sudden rainfall in Guwahati.

The incident took place during the T20I match, which was scheduled to take place in Barsapara Stadium, Guwahati on Sunday.
The India vs Sri Lanka, T20I match was abandoned due to rain after water leaked into the pitch which forced the umpires to abandon the match without a ball being bowled.

Earlier in the evening, the match was delayed after rains lashed Guwahati just after the toss that Indian team won and elected to field first.

The authorities conducted three inspections before abandoning the match, first at 8:15 PM and then at 9 PM and 9:30 PM.

The next match is scheduled in Indore on Jan 7, and both the teams will now travel to Indore.
According to a source, Assam Cricket Association (ACA) said that, Spectators to be refunded the money for tickets within 7 days since match abandoned due to rain.
