GCFC Unicorns & Khanapara Pegasus lead
Final round matches of U8, U10 and U12 categories were played today at the International School, Nalapara, on the 10th match day of GGBL, Assam’s first ever golden baby football league recognized by All India Football Federation (AIFF).
After today’s Final round matches in U8 category, GCFC Unicorns took a 10 points lead over second placed NFCC Dolphins and cemented their status of favorites to lift the U8 title of the league, which is being organized by Guwahati City FC (GCFC) and Sportscraft Management in association with WAMUL (Purabi Dairy) and supported by Assam Football Association, Indian Oil Corporation-Servo, Decathlon Guwahati, Rmanam Infotech and Gupshup 94.3 FM.
Vivek Dey of GCFC Unicorns is leading the goal scorers tally with 29 goals with Uzziel Iangrai of Unicorns (25) and Laishram Singh of Montfort Tigers (24) taking the second and third spot respectively.
In an exciting battle for championship in U10 category, Khanapara Pegasus took an important 3 points lead over GTC Rhinos to increase their chances of the title, while third placed GCFC Unicorns are also not far behind with just 3 points away from Pegasus with 2 games in hand.
Sumit Pandey of GTC Rhinos is leading the goalscorer’s list of U10 with 23 goals with Sanzid Khan Choudhury of Khanapara Pegasus and Sandip Singh of Pegasus taking the joint second postion with 18 goals each. Maulick Kashyap of LFS Eagles and Sumit Das of GTC Rhinos are in joint third position in the list with 10 goals each.
In U12 category, Manomay Deers, Khanapara Pegasus, Chandmari Turtles and Narengi Dolphins are in a close title battle, told a statement released by GCFC.
