The Mizoram government extended total lockdown in Aizawl Municipal area, other district headquarters, and containment zone areas till June 30 to prevent any further spread of coronavirus.
Mizoram announced total lockdown in the state earlier from June 9 till June 22 but the government has extended the lockdown for another eight days to the rising numbers of COVID-19 cases.
According to an order issued by the state government on Sunday said that it has been felt pertinent to extend the total lockdown in the said areas as stricter measures imposed for two weeks as it has been found to be effective in containing the spread of COVID-19 and flattening the curve of new cases detected.
