Guwahati: Assam Health department’s initiative to carry out 50,000 tests for COVID-19 in Kamrup Metropolitan district has apparently elicited good response from the people who have thronged the swab collection centres set up at various health care units in greater Guwahati areas.
However, failure of the authorities to make people maintain social distancing while coming to give swab samples at health centres is a serious cause for concern given that there has been apprehension about social transmission of the virus in Guwahati where the spike in COVID-10 incidence has continued.
