GUWAHATI: The Assam government will provide Rs. 20 thousand to 16, 944 students each who have passed with 75 per cent marks in the high school leaving certificate (HSLC) examinations, 2020. The amount will be provided to the meritorious students under the Anundorum Barooah Award, announced education minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma at a presser in Guwahati on Friday.
“Earlier laptops were provided to the students under this scheme. This year, we are giving Rs. 20 thousand each to 16,944 students. The students will get the money on September 12 or 13,” said minister Sarma.
Results of HSLC exams for the year 2020 were declared on June 6. Government has already collected the bank details of the candidates who had passed the exams with 75 per cent or more marks.
