GUWAHATI: Silchar secured an all India rank of 340 in cleanest city category while emerging as the cleanest city in Assam. This is followed by Dibrugarh with an over all ranking of 353, Guwahati at 356 and Nagaon at 358.
On the other hand, Jorhat has been conferred the Swachh Survekshan 2020 award for the cleanest city in the Northeast and the state under the Swachh Bharat Abiyan and Lakhimpur in Assam has won the Fastest Mover City Award under population up to 25,000 in the Northeast zone category in Swachh Survekshan survey 2020 conducted by Union Housing & Urban Affairs Ministry.
Assam got many titles in the Swachh Survekshan 2020. The titles includes:

Silchar: cleanest city, Assam.
Tezpur: Best cityJorhat Cleanest city, NE.
Diphu, Lakhimpur, Silapathar: Fastest Mover.
Sivasagar, Hailakandi: best city in ‘Innovation & Best practices.
Karimganj: Self Sustainable City.
