Kohima: Al least 38 more persons tested positive for COVID-19 in Nagaland on Friday, taking the tally in the state to 5,768, Health and Family Welfare Additional Director Dr Denis Hangsing said.
Thirty-nine people were cured of the disease during the day, which took the total number of recoveries to 4,637, he said. “Out of 610 results received, 38 positive cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed – 24 in Dimapur, 12 in Kohima and one each in Mon and Wokha,” Hangsing said. Of the 39 new recoveries, 34 were reported from Dimapur, 3 from Peren and 2 from Kiphire districts.
Nagaland now has 1,083 active COVID-19 cases, while 16 people have died of the disease, the official said. Dimapur has the maximum number of active cases at 731, followed by Kohima at 309, Mokukchung at 17, Mon at 13, Zunheboto at 6, Tuensang at 4 and one each in Peren, Phek and Wokha districts.
Four more patients migrated to other states increasing the number of migrated persons to 32, he said. The recovery rate among coronavirus patients in the state is currently at 80.39 per cent. The state has so far tested 76,682 samples for COVID-19, he said. PTI
