GUWAHATI: A gratifying moment for Northeast India, Riiohlang Dhar from Meghalya and Ranjita Devi Tekcham from Manipur has been selected as FIFA International refree.
Riiohlang Dhar, a woman constable from Meghalaya has been selected in the elite list of FIFA International Referee from the country. She is among the four women referees selected from India. Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad Sangma took to Twitter to wish Dhar on her big achievement. He wrote:
“Big congratulations to WC Riiohlang Dhar, 1st MLP, for qualifying as a #FIFA International Referee. She is among 4 #women selected from India. Wishing her good luck and many more success!”
After her parents passed away, Dhar was on the brink of quiting on being a top women referee. But in 2014, she encouraged herself to achieve her dream yet again. In spite of facing several problems, Dhar has always worked really hard since then to reach her goal of life.
On the other hand, Ranjita Devi Tekcham from Manipur also makes it to the list.
Tekcham has been named as a referee while Dhar has been selected as an assistant referee.
