GUWAHATI: The 17th general conference of the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) begins from today at Duliajan in Dibrugarh district. The four-day conference will conclude on November 21. A host of events will take place during this session.
A lot of major developments as well as changes in leadership are expected during this conference.
Making an end of his long association with the influential students’ body, chief advisor Dr. Samujjal Bhattacharjya will retire from the AASU at this conference. Incumbent president Dipanka Kumar Nath and general secretary Lurinjyoti Gogoi will also leave the students’ organisation as they prepare to enter active politics through recently floated Assam Jatiya parishad (AJP).
