GUWAHATI: Monita Chetri, wife of an officer from Oil India Limited committed suicide at her Duliajan house on the day of their marriage anniversary. She basically hails from Jagiroad and has left behind her 2 year old son. She got married in the year 2016.
Monita wrote a Facebook post expressing the reason behind this grief step. She had blamed her husband, Kiran Chetry for the failed marriage as well as for carrying out physical as well as mental torture on her from several years.
Duliajan police has already arrested her husband based on FIR filed by Monita’s father. The parents of Monita alleged that her in-laws would always used to torture her, and compelled her to take up this drastic step.
