GUWAHATI: Being the only daughter of her parents, she had always felt loved and protected. It is her native state, Tripura, that made her the compassionate and caring woman she is today, because she grew up among 19 different tribes of Tripura.
From acing academics to co-curricular activities in school and college to believing in her dreams, she stood out, because even after cracking the medical entrance test, she chose to follow her passion of acting rather than being a doctor. But life hit her hard in 2016, when she was diagnosed with a fatal disease, tuberculosis. She lost hope and her parents did, too, when the medicines stopped working, but something somewhere changed and her willpower made her spring back to life. Her reports came clean in September 2016 and there has been no looking back since then. Today she does her bit to help the patients of her state suffering from the same disease. This is the story of a girl who dares to dream, this is the story of Chayanika Debnath.
