Ripun Bora and family cast vote in Gohpur

GUWAHATI: Assam Congress senior leader and party state President Ripun Bora cast his vote at a polling booth in Gohpur on Saturday. Bora along with his son, daughter and wife cast their votes.

“Today my son, wife, daughter. All the four members of our family have cast our votes. I am very happy and delighted after casting my vote because the way the people of Gohpur have come out spontaneously, it is a signal that people want change and they want Congress Government in Assam. So I thank the people of Gohpur for turning up in such a massive way,” said Bora.

It is to be mentioned that voting for 47 constituencies going to polls in Phase-I of the Assam Assembly Elections 2021 is underway. Around 25.83 % voter turnout recorded till 11 am on Saturday, informed the Election Commission of India.

Also, Congress leaders Rakibul Hussain and Gaurav Gogoi have also cast their votes today.

 


In the first phase, Altogether 264 candidates, including 23 women, are in the fray.
