BJP-Led Alliance Will Win 83 Seats In Assam: Ranjeet Kumar Dass

With just two days left for the results of the recently concluded assembly elections, Assam Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Ranjeet Kumar Dass asserted that his party will form the next government in the state.

Dass further said that the ruling BJP will retain power in Assam and he is confident that BJP along with its allies will win over 83 seats in the state. He said BJP alone will win 70 seats, AGP 8 seats and UPPL 5 seats.

The state BJP chief said that the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee President Ripun Bora will lose his constituency, Gohpur this time. On the other hand, peasant leader Akhil Gogoi will also lose the Sivasagar seat. Instead, the alliance candidates will win in both constituencies.

On the other hand, referring to BJP’s Mission 100+, Dass reiterated, “We prepared to win over 100 seats. Hence, we will get letter marks or distinction in the examination results on May 2 as we were well prepared.”

Dass further made a significant statement that the results of Barak valley, which had 15 seats, would be somewhat different from what is being expected.

On being asked about the Patacharkuchi constituency from where Dass contested this time, he said, “It was not me who contested the seat, but the people of Patacharkuchi. So, it is going to be undoubtedly the people’s win.”

The BJP leader claimed that the Congress-led ‘Mahajot’ held a closed-door meeting at All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) supremo Maulana Badruddin Ajmal’s House in Hojai’s Gopalnagar citing it to be an Iftar get-together.

The meeting was attended by APCC General Secretary Jitendra Singh, state president Ripun Bora, Nagaon MP Pradyut Bordoloi, senior Congress leader Rockybul Hussain and Rajya Sabha MP Ajit Bhuyan.

The AIUDF chief along with his brother and Jamunamukh constituency candidate Sirajuddin Ajmal along with AIUDF general secretary Aminul Islam were also present at the Ajmal House.
