CM Himanta Biswa Sarma visits Assam-Bengal border at Chaagolia

GUWAHATI: To review COVID-19 management, Assam chief minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma visited Chaagolia gate on the Assam-West Bengal border in Dhubri district on Tuesday.

Dr. Sarma was accompanied by Assam health minister Keshab Mahanta and Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) chief executive member (CEM) Pramod Boro.

“#Sagolia is an important border corridor of Assam. The success of our fight against #Covid also depends on management of this border including transportation of passengers & goods,” the chief minister stated in a tweet.

Earlier in the day, CM Sarma also visited Srirampur in the Kokrajhar district of Assam.

“Screening has been at core of our #COVID19 management strategy. Over time, our teams have constantly expanded the facilities for wider net,” Sarma said.
