Former Deputy Secretary, GOA, Prasanta Chandra Dhar passed away at KIMS Hospital Hyderabad on 20 Oct. Dhar was staying with his son in Hyderabad.
Born in the famous Dhar family of Habiganj of Sylhet District in erstwhile undivided Assam on 03.10.1934, Dhar saw through the undercurrents of partition and moved to Shillong in the early fifties.
During his tenure at Assam Secretariat, he was recognized by one and all for his exemplary honesty and straightforwardness.
He has left behind his wife, only son, daughter-in-law and a grandson.
Dhar retired as Deputy Secretary, Food and Civil Supplies, Govt. of Assam.
