The Boragaon murder case in which a woman’s body parts were found wrapped in plastic bags has been finally solved by the police.
The body was found in the residence of the woman. Her body was brutally chopped into pieces and wrapped in plastic bags.
The police have identified the woman as Antima Gupta, who is the wife of Santosh Gupta. The married couple was residing in a rented apartment in the area.
It has been revealed that one Debjani Das had brutally murdered Antima Gupta on Thursday before chopping her body in pieces.
During interrogation today, Debjani confessed to bludgeoning her to death following a fight over Antima’s husband as the police confirmed this case to be of trouble caused due to an extra-marital affair. Sources said the fight between the victim and Debojani occurred due to her illicit relationship with the victim’s husband, Santosh Gupta.
After a heated fight with Antima on Thursday, Debojani battered her, chopped her body into multiple pieces and kept the body pieces inside a bag in the couple’s bedroom.
Earlier on Friday, the West Guwahati Police detained Santosh Gupta, the husband in connection to the murder.
Gupta had registered a missing complaint of his wife at Gorchuk police station. The couple resided in a rented house.
