On the eve of Diwali, a Mela was organized in BSF Campus Patgaon, Guwahati on Wednesday. The mela was inaugurated by Sanjay Singh Gehlot, Inspector General BSF Guwahati.
A variety of food, sweets and game stalls were the main attraction of the mela. Cultural programmes, dance items for children etc were also organized. Attractive prizes were distributed to the winners besides the prizes for best and the second best stall by the Chief Guest. A fascinating dog show by NDRF canine sentinels resulted in never-ending applause and a standing ovation from the audience.
Also, the BSF Brass and Jazz Band enthralled the crowd with their foot tapping music and soulful classical renditions. It seems the whole atmosphere was filled with rejoice and cheerfulness.
The Mela eventually culminated with the best wishes extended by the Inspector General to troops and their families besides civil gathering and wished happiness and prosperity for their future endeavor. He also conveyed his special “Deepawali” wishes to those BSF Jawans who are performing their duties diligently round the clock on the farthest Frontiers of the International Border.
