Kokrajhar Literary Festival concludes

The first-ever Kokrajhar Literary Festival concluded on Tuesday with a three-day colorful programme held at the Bodofa Cultural Complex in Kokrajhar. The fest witnessed around 113 national and international poets from different cultures and backgrounds. 

The festival was organized by the Bodoland Territorial Region administration with the theme of poetry for peace and love which started from November 14 for three days, coinciding with the 70th Foundation Day of Bodo Thunlai Saan (Bodo Sahitya Divosh). 

An international poets’ meet has also been organized that saw over 200 poets representing different languages from across the world which saw an integration of poets from various languages representing different communities. 

On the concluding session of the festival, BTR CEM Pramod Boro, Assam cabinet minister and noted writer Urkhao Gwra Brahma, Bodo Sahitya Sabha president Taren Boro, secretary Prasanta Boro, noted poet Anubhav Tulsi, BTC principal secretary Shantanu P Gotmare, noted Rajasthani poet Dr. Hira Meena, Punjabi poet Paul Kaur were prominent attendees. 

The concluding ceremony was chaired by noted writer Dr. Anil Kumar Boro where national and internationally acclaimed poets recited their self-composed poems enthralling the audience. 

Poets participating from different languages and communities have expressed their happiness and excitement for the event which had also witnessed a large number of audiences thronging the last day of the festival. 

An open discussion over the literary creation among the various languages was also held in the meet. The festival intends to encourage authors, poets, and creative minds to enhance “vision and minds with their voices through writings”. 

An eminent writer from Rajasthan, Meethesh Nirmohi who attended the program as chief guest lauded the BTC administration and the organizers for organizing the literary festival. He said such programs sent messages of peace and love across the world. 

BTR CEM Pramod Boro has extended sincere thanks to the reception committee and BTC government officials for successfully organizing the Kokrajhar Literary Festival in Kokrajhar. 

He said that the literary festival was aimed to build an integrated environment with a theme of poetry for peace and love which is the need of the hour among the society. 

He said that the BTR administration was working towards the welfare and development of all sections of the society since its gaining of power in Bodoland Territorial Region districts. 

Meanwhile, the Bodo Sahitya Sabha observed its 70th Foundation Day of Bodo Thunlai Saan (Bodo Sahitya Divosh) at the Bodofa Cultural Complex in Kokrajhar. 

BTR CEM Pramod Boro inaugurated the newly constructed statue of Subungthini Thandwi Bineswar Brahma, former president of Bodo Sahitya Sabha. 

President of Bodo Sahitya Sabha Taren Boro hoisted the sabha flag followed by paying homage to martyrs.
