A 15-year-old girl was spotted by locals at around 6 pm on Thursday in Kukurakata Nepalibasti under Tangla police station in Udalguri district and the girl took refuge in the village last night.
This morning, Ananda Boro, Kulumaya Devi, Babul Newar and some locals informed Udalguri Childline, after that Udalguri Childline rescued the girl with the help of local people.
According to the girl, she was living with Babul Talukdar and Deepti Talukdar of Gohpur as a maid.
Although, the family has been abusing the girl physically and mentally. After getting to know about the harassment of the girl, Raja Basumatary, an old friend of her father from Tangla, called to his home.
The real mystery is not yet known, although Childline is still investigating. On the other hand, the District Child Welfare Committee of Udalguri district temporarily kept the child in the Child Care Centre.
