The fifth edition of the Guwahati Open Junior Tennis Championship – 2022, organized by Guwahati Lawn Tennis Association (GLTA)got off to a colorful start at the RG Baruah Sports Complex, Nehru Stadium here today. The Championship is being held for both Boy’s and Girl’s Singles – under 12, 14 and 18 years categories respectively. All the winners will be awarded a cash scholarship. Cash scholarship will be awarded to all the players from the quarterfinal stage in all categories The Championship is carrying a total Scholarship Money of Rs. 1,92,000/-. The entire scholarship amount is sponsored by Pride-East Entertainment Private Limited. Altogether 110 participants from various parts of the region are taking part in it. Eminent veteran sports person Shankar Dutta Lahkar, President, India Club Bijan Kumar Choudhuri, Chief Advisor, GLTA Pronoy Bordoloi, and Advisor, GLTA who have attended the function as guests of honor inaugurated the championship in a well-attended colorful function. GLTA was felicitated by the organizers. They were all felicitated by the organizers. The distinguished guests lauded the efforts of the GLTA for promoting the game with their motto “Tennis for All”. Earlier, Kalyan Kumar Das, Chairman of, the Organising Committee welcomed the gathering and was apprised of the objectives of GLTA.
