Along with the rest of the world, the Christian community here in Diphu also observed the day with Palm Sunday service. The United Christian Federation (UCF) organised a procession from Believer’s Church to Taralangso Clock Tower. Later a fest was held in respective churches under UCF.
In West Karbi Anglong, Christians commemorate the entry of Lord Jesus into Jerusalem. Holi Mass was held at Sojong, Dongkamukam where Fr John, the Parish Priest held mass in front of hundreds of believers.
At Satgaon, Catholics held mass at Mary Help of Christian Church led by Fr CA John. Later a procession was taken out with hymns while holding palm leaves from Satgaon Assamese ME School to the Church.
The Church of North India congregation held their mass at Taralangso Church and at Satgaon St Mary’s Church while Baptist Believer’s Church held prayer services at Bordongka, Ghilani and at Rongkuoroi.
The Christians in Bokajan Sub-division, Fellowship and Prayer Center held Palm Sunday services at different churches.
NKBA, SABF, Nilip Area, Duarbagori Area, UCF, Presbyterian, Catholic, AG, GEL and others organised their own observation of the day with prayer, procession with palm leaves and feast.
