Interview: Naphilahunlang Warbah top contestant from Meghalaya for Miss India 2022

Naphilahunlang Warbah from Meghalaya made it among the top contestants for Femina Miss India 2022 from Meghalaya.

Warbah was working as a cabin attendant at Indigo Airlines and is currently pursuing her degree in social work from St.Edmunds College Shillong.


Speaking about her hobbies in a special interview with Guwahati Times, she said, “Spending time with my pets, reading Legal Thrillers by John Grisham or Psychological Thrillers by Sidney Sheldon, Working out and even volunteering at various NGOs.”

Adding about her modeling journey, she said, “I started modelling at the age of 17 where I participated in my first pageant and won the title of Miss Hynniewtrep and subsequently winning the title of Miss Meghalaya 1st Runner up in 2020.”
“I never knew I had a knack for pageants until one day I decided to participate in Miss Freshers during college when I was in St. Mary’s College in 2015 where I won. From that day onwards I knew what I wanted to do.
I knew where my passion lies..so I dedicated my teenage years and my yound adulthood to pageants and modeling, it is what I love to do the most,” Warbah further said.

Meanwhile, speaking about her FMI journey, she said, “When I got the call from the Femina Miss India organization informing me that I was shortlisted from Meghalaya with four other beautiful ladies I was ecstatic. It was surreal and I’m grateful for the opportunity.”

▶️If you get the chance to represent your state, what do you want to do for the people of your state?
If I do ever have that chance to represent my state my first duty is to uphold the respect of Meghalaya and represent my people and my rich culture with pride.

▶️What do you think about ‘Modelling as a career?
When it comes to my modeling career I follow a simple mantra Do what you love. Love what you do. This has always kept me going. If I could model for the rest of my life I would.

▶️How does your family support you in your modelling career?
All of my achievements are not only in terms of my modeling aspirations but in my life as a whole. I was able to succeed and overcome any challenges because of my loving parents. They’ve been nothing but extremely supportive in whatever I chose to do.

▶️Future Plans:
My future plans would be to get the opportunity to represent Meghalaya in Femina Miss India. I’m hoping and praying for the best. And my best wishes to all my fellow contestants as well. May the one best wins.▶️Who is your role model?
I consider my parents as my role models. The person that I am today I owe it to them. The good that I have in me and the good that I want to do was ingrained in me through the good deeds and actions of my parents throughout my life.

▶️Favorite Actor:
My favorite actor would be Sushmita Sen . She’s the epitome of elegance, grace, and beauty with intellect.

▶️Favorite Food:
My favorite food would have to be garlic bread and butter garlic prawns …and how can I forget butter chicken.
