Union Home Minister Amit Shah presented the prestigious President’s Colour Award to the Assam Police on Tuesday for their exemplary service in the last 25 years. The flag is engraved with the map of Assam and the 36 stars, representing the districts of the state, the insignia of the Assam Police Department and the pride of Assam a one-horned rhino.
With the prestigious Award, Assam becomes the 10th state in India to have received the award for the exemplary services of the Assam Police.
As per reports from a leading news agency, The Economic Times, the award was presented to the Police in presence of our Honourable Chief Minister, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma and the DGP Bhasker Jyoti Mahanta, at the Alaknanda Parade Ceremony.
The Union Home Minister, Amit Shah arrived in the city on Sunday night for a three-day visit.
