India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that the southwest monsoon is all set to hit the northeast in the next three to four days. As per the IMD, conditions have turned out favorable for further advancement of the monsoon towards the northeast, after it arrived in Kerala, three days ahead of time on Sunday. ”Southwest Monsoon has advanced into remaining parts of south Arabian Sea, Lakshadweep area, most parts of Kerala, some parts of south Tamil Nadu, some parts of Gulf of Mannar and some more parts of southwest Bay of Bengal today, the 29th May 2022. Thus, Southwest Monsoon has set in over Kerala today, the 29th May 2022 against the normal date of 01st June i.e. 3-days ahead of its normal date,” IMD said in its official statement on Sunday. Also Read – Goa Lawyer Opposes Devotee’s Plan To Take 2 Assam Elephants To Tamil Nadu Temple The weather forecasting agency also predicted isolated heavy rainfall over Assam-Meghalaya till June 2 and over Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura on June 1 and June 2. ”Isolated heavy rainfall also likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim during 30th May-1st June; over Assam-Meghalaya during 29th May-02nd June; over Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura on 01st & 02nd June 2022,” the statement added.
