4.0 Magnitude Earthquake Jolts Meghalaya

A minor earthquake struck the northeastern state of Meghalaya in the early hours of Monday, June 13. As per the national centre for seismology (NCS), Tura happened to be the epicenter of the earthquake.
The national body that keeps records of earthquakes, informed that tremors were felt at around 6.32 am on June 13. According to NCS, the magnitude of the earthquake was clocked at 4.0 on the Richter scale.

The seismology department added that the jolts originated at a depth of 10 kilometers, 43 kilometers east northeast of Tura in Meghalaya.

The NCS took to their official Twitter handle to inform us about the earthquake. “Earthquake of Magnitude:4.0, Occurred on 13-06-2022, 06:32:02 IST, Lat: 25.68 & Long: 90.60, Depth: 10 Km ,Location: 43km ENE of Tura, Meghalaya, India,” the NCS tweeted.
