A day after Assam recorded 34 new COVID cases and registered a positivity rate of 5.20%, the Superintendent of Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Dr. Abhijit Sarma said that sporadic cases of Covid continue to be reported from across Assam but there is nothing to worry. He asked people to continue wearing the mask and sanitize their hands, and maintain social distance.
“Covid did not go away completely. Sporadic cases, 1-2 cases are still being reported. There is nothing to worry but people should continue to follow COVID protocol of wearing the mask, washing hands and feet properly, and maintaining social distance,” Dr. Sharma told reporters today.
Dr. Sarma informed that a sanyasi (baba) who had come for the ongoing Ambubachi Mela at Kamakhya Temple had tested positive for COVID. Still, there is nothing to be worried about.
In the past 15 days, 10 COVID cases were admitted at the GMCH. Six cases have been discharged, and 4 are under treatment, Dr. Sarma informed.
